The term soul is often associated with one’s emotion, or feelings. Yet, we know it manifests many different characteristics, some good, and others not so good. The soul elicits feelings of inferiority, insecurity, inadequacy, guilt, worry, doubts, and phobias of all sorts. It is important to know that frustration is a symptom of an unhappy soul or personality. Hostility can be a symptom of the soul in that it causes the mind to fantasize, have uncontrollable thoughts, depression, and anxiety. These emotions or feelings can be transferred unto others in an overt manner, or internally in a covert manner. Keeping in mind that according to scripture, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam is made a Living Spirit. (1 Cor 15:45) The soul is not your spirit. The God of Peace seeks to sanctify (set apart) your spirit from your soul and your body. (Heb 4:12) These are preserved blameless unto His coming. (1 Thes 5:23) The soul is part of man, but is not man.
